Njuthine Community Project: Bringing Hope Through Clean Water
In partnership with Hope Unlimited USA, Davison Water Africa installed a solar borehole in Meru, providing clean water and health to 2,500+ residents.
The Challenge
For generations, the people of Njuthine Location in Meru County faced a daily struggle that consumed their time, energy, and hope: access to clean water. Women and children would walk miles each day, carrying heavy jerrycans along rugged terrain to the nearest river, only to return with water that was often contaminated and unsafe for drinking.
The lack of reliable clean water affected every aspect of community life. Children missed school to fetch water. Families fell ill from waterborne diseases. Agricultural productivity suffered. The community's potential was limited by a basic need that should be a fundamental right.
The Solution
Through the generous support of Hope Unlimited USA, Davison Water Africa was commissioned to design and implement a comprehensive clean water solution for the Njuthine community. Our team conducted extensive hydrogeological surveys to identify the optimal drilling location, ensuring sustainable water yield for generations to come.
The project involved the complete drilling and equipping of a modern borehole system. Our engineers worked closely with community leaders to design distribution points that would serve the maximum number of households efficiently.
